Instruction and Coaching with Mike

Mike has more than 30 years instructing experience. He's a qualified experimental psychologist, former army officer and holds many instructional qualifications. He's a founding fellow of the association of professional shooting instructors.

Mike has written thousands of articles on guns and shooting technique and several of his books have been best sellers including those on gunfitting and shooting instruction. He is former British Side by Side Champion and a multiple Country Champion. He also represented his country with a pistol.

All tution is individually tailored by the half or full day. Mike caters for shooting parties from 1-5 people and larger on special request. Michael also offers a visiting clinic to shooting clubs syndicates and similar. Mike lives in Essex and usually teaches at the Fennes shooting school in Braintree. 'Spending the afternoon being expertly tutored by Mike has given me new confidence to take my shooting to a higher level. Informative and relaxed were key to the session, starting with some basic technique and gun fitting  Mike discovered some learned habits or should I say bad habits that needed work on. It was then onto the skeet range where the bulk of the session took place, discussion on suitable lead, footwork and the all-important mental approach were covered. When the heavens opened it was back to the clubhouse and  discussion and reinforcement of the material covered. No time lost as we worked with the arrow Laser shot device whilst we waited for the rain to stop. Finally a last session on the skeet range and a review of the afternoon. I feel that I am now set up for developing what I learnt on the afternoon and will be booking another session later in the year. Thanks Mike
